MEMBER PROFILE AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION
What is the secret word for when I registered?
The secret word is how we identify you. Make sure no one but you knows what the word is. The use of the secret word prevents someone from trying to access your account. We will not release account information to anyone, including you without the secret word.
Can I change my email address and password?
Yes, log in and go to your profile, click on the EDIT tab on your profile control panel. Change the email address and password on the contact info tab.
How do I change my personal information?
Log into your account, click on the EDIT tab and click on update your profile. Do not change your name, address or your birthday. All of which only you can see.  The Age and ID verification system will reverify this information every 6 months or so. If you change this information, the process will fail and you could be locked out of your account. All other fields you can update at any time from the profile control panel.
I can't create an account.
When filling in the fields of the membership registration form, it is imperative that your information be true and accurate. This is when the Age and Identification verification system will automatically check to see if your information is correct. If the system verifies your information as true, you will be taken to the credit card purchase page. If your verification fails, you will get two more chances to fill out the form. If after the third try your information fails verification, you will need to contact Membership Activation. There is a failure rate of 5%. We will help on failed verification issues only as time and resources permit.
I can't log in to my account.
Try the lost password option first? Then contact customer service. Make sure that you have the secret word that you gave us when you registered as a member. They will not give out any information without it as that is how we identify you. When you have finally logged in, change your password and secret word in the control panel section of your profile.
I forgot my password and or username?
Click on the "Lost Password " link on the Log In section of the left toolbar. Fill out the form and a new password will be sent to you.
How do I delete my account?
Send an email to cancel account. Make sure you include your secret word to identify you as the owner of the account.
I never received my confirmation emails?
Check you spam filter on your email program. Try adding DebateOurFuture.com to your acceptance list.
If I cancel my membership what happens to all my stuff – (pictures, video's, etc.)?
It will not be accessible by members of DebateOurFuture.com. Eventually we will delete them. If we miss any postings, let us know and we will remove them ASAP.  Make sure you have copies of all your items on your own computer as we will not be able to retrieve your content for you..
Why do I need to register?
So we can protect you, your identity and your content. We are also required to collect information for law enforcement authorities so that they can get the creeps.
Why do I have to enter my password every time I log on?
We do not permit the password to be stored in the browser for your safety. This makes it more difficult for someone to log into your account without your knowledge. This is a good thing. Remember, the owner of the account is solely responsible for the activities associated with an account.

GROUPS
Can I have a chat room in my group?
Yes. all groups get a chat room. Only members of the group can use it. The group leader has the ability to kick chat users who get out of line out through their group admin panel. Users need to conform to the sites terms of use policy. Note: as all users are verified to be over 21 years of age, no one should ever claim to be a minor.
Can I join a group even if I don't know any of the members?
Yes. There are three kinds of groups, private, by approval only and public. You can join any public group you would like.
Can I let someone else administer the message boards on a group I started?
Group leaders do not administer the board for their group. We have a trained staff of moderators o manage the boards. Anyone can read and post to any group board.
Can I start my own group?
Any one can start a group. Under the submission menu click on group and fill out the form. If you are a legal entity, fill out the contact address and phone number. If you are not a legal entity, we suggest that you do not fill out the contact information.
Can someone else take over as the leader of a group I started?
Not directly, send an email to customer service and they can change the leader from the backend..
How do I find a group?
Click on group listing on the menu, drill down through the categories until you find the one you like.
How do I invite friends to my group?
You can read profiles and send the friend an instant message which is accessed once you've logged into your account. Their is also a recommend feature on each group panel.
How do I join a group?
We suggest reading a groups postings and messaging with its members before deciding to join a group. If it is a public group, just click the join this group link on the groups information panel.
How do I manage group boards?
We are always looking for moderators. Contact customer service.
What are groups?
Groups are really just a way to identify members of DebateOurFuture with similar interests.
How do I cancel or delete a group?
Only the administrator of a group can delete a group. Just go to your group panel and click delete.

Featured Groups are premium paid listings. If you want to be a featured group, click here for details.

Can my friends in another country sign up with MAO?
No, only resident of the USA and Canada can join MAO.
Do you translate the website so I can participate in my own language?
No.
How do I translate the website into my language?
You can copy and paste it into an online translator program such as Babelfish.
Why are their items that are still in English after I run the translator program?
Because the translator only translates text, it cannot translate graphics and some programmed components.

Can I hide personal information like my email address?
Although we collect this information, we do not display personal information in your profile or listings and recommend that you do not share your email address with anyone. Most contact is done through the use of the Private Messaging System. MAO will send emails to your email address for promotions, coupons and specials as well as confirmation of your activities on the web site.
How do I log out of DebateOurFuture.com when I’m done?
Just click on the LOGOUT button on the left toolbar. If you don't you may remain logged in even if you have closed your browser.
How does Make An Organization protect my personal information?
Although their is no such thing as a totally secure server, our servers are behind a firewall. The computer center has provided us with all the standard protocols and security measures needed to protect your information. Liability is covered in the privacy policy and terms of use agreements.
I don't want my blogs, photos, videos, etc. to be seen by others. Is that possible?
Most components of the website give you the option to keep your posting private.
I found a Group that I think was created by a child or has a child as a member. What should I do?
Report them to the moderators here. Please include the username of the suspected child.
I found prohibited content on the site. What should I do?
Report them to the moderators here. Please let us know where you saw the prohibited content and the username of the poster.

Report is the report form that our members use to let our moderators know about minors, terms of use, copyright and privacy policy violations.

Although the site was designed for Internet Explorer, it will work in FireFox and Opera. Alternative browsers may not render all the details of the site correctly, but when we tested all the components and functionality worked.
